Long Island Bridge for YouthWe are dedicated to bringing the great game of bridge to Long Island’s youth.
Bridge enhances children’s analytical skills, academic performance, and problem solving skills.
We provide teachers and materials to any organizations giving children and young adults the opportunity to learn and play bridge.
Bridge is a unique way of fostering social interaction and teamwork among youth.
The First Annual Patrick Hannon Youth Tournament is Saturday, May 5th, 11 AM, at the Long Island Sheraton. Bagels and refreshments will be served all day. Everything is free! Prizes galore will be awarded in all categories. Parents are welcome.
Our students develop self-reliance and enhance their social skills, while building confidence with a partner. They discover how to succeed, as in any sports program. There are no socio-economic or physical boundaries.
IRS Stuff: Long Island Bridge for Youth is a not for profit organization funded by private and corporate donations. We qualify as a charitable organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and donations to LIBFY are fully tax deductible to the donor. (We will happily furnish a copy of our IRS determination letter to any donor upon request.)
According to scientific research, learning bridge increases children's scores in math, reading, logic and comprehension. They also improve short term memory retention.
We need teachers, assistants, supplies, and financial assistance. If you want to help in this rewarding mission, please email us at LIBFY@LIBridge4Youth
Bridge is a skill, recreation, and learning experienc that will last all of their lives.
